Ramohalli Big Banyan Tree

Located on the way to Mysuru, the massive banyan tree, sprawling over a few acres in Ramohalli Village, is a botanical wonder. The tree is spread across 3 acres. It is more than 400 years old and has a huge circumference of more than 250 meters.

Why visit the Ramohalli Big Banyan Tree:

Banyan tree’s roots grow overland and over time, roots grow in size, often creating the impression of being a tree itself. With hundreds of such roots, Big Banyąn tree complex is a delight to walk around. Walking track is built amidst the roots in a small park built around the big bąnyan tree. Several monkeys and birds have made the big banyąn tree their home.

Manchanabele dam (10 kms), Magadi Ranganathaswamy Temple (26 kms), Ramanagara (36 kms) are some of the destinations to visit along with Big Banyan Tree.

How to reach Ramohalli Big Banyan Tree:

Big Banyąn tree is located in Kethohalli village in Bengaluru Urban district, 28 kms south west of city centre (Majestic) and 60 kms from Bengaluru airport. Public transport is available till Big Banyąn Tree with limited frequency. RV College metro rail station and Kengeri train station on Mysuru road are the nearest rail and metro stations 14 kms from Big Banyan tree, from where taxis can be hired to reach Big Banyan Tree.
