Mysore

The heritage city of Karnataka can also be called the Heritage hub of India. The city of Palaces, Mysore is renowned across the world for its heritage and grandeur. The splendid monuments and heritage buildings attract tourists, scholars, students, art lovers, and history enthusiasts, to see and learn more about the heritage of Mysore and Karnataka. Amba Vilas, popularly known as Mysuru Palace is the official residence of the Wadiyar dynasty and the seat of the Kingdom of Mysuru. It is arguably the most visited palace in the country. Lalit Mahal palace built-in 1921 is the second-largest palace in Mysuru and is not a heritage hotel. Sparkling white and unique architecture attracts many travellers who love to enjoy the grand stay in a unique royal style. Chittranjan Palace and Talakadu are the other heritage locations of Mysuru worth visiting again and again.

Hassan

An ancient Hoysala heritage city has a lot to offer to every tourist. Haranahalli is home to an 11th-century Hoysala fort now in ruins and also features a Someshwara temple. Maharajana Durga is just 14 km from Alur town, Maharajana Durga is a hillock with a large precipitous rock. Remains of an old fort, built in an octagonal shape with a pond at the center can be seen in Maharajana Durga. A unique star-shaped Manjarabad Fort located in Sakleshpur is an iconic fort built by Tipu Sultan. Shettihalli Church is an amazing sub-merged ancient church on the banks of river Hemavathi and is a must to visit.

Belur

Famous for ancient heritage temples, Chennakeshava Temple is a magnificent Hoysala temple built in 1116 AD. The craftsmanship beyond words is listed under the proposed UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Chennakeshava temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

Halebeedu

The ancient capital of the Hoysala who ruled over for close to 200 years in South India, Halebeedu means ‘Old House’. The mesmerizing architectural marvel dates back to the 14th century and is a Lord Shiva temple.

Srirangapatna

The historical and heritage town in Mandya district has preserved its monuments and ruins that speak a thousand stories. Dariya Daulat Bagh, Karighatta viewpoint, Tipu Sultan Gumbaz, and Srirangapatna fort are some of the most visited and preserved heritage attractions in Srirangapatna.
