Lakkundi Utsava (festival) is an annual festival held in the town of Lakkundi, near Gadaga in north Karnataka. Lakkundi Utsava falls in February/March every year.

Attending Lakkundi Utsava will enable visitors to experience a wide range of cultural performances, dance and art forms of Karnataka in one place. Applications are invited from individuals and teams looking to exhibit their talents on stage and curated artists and performers entertain visitors and unveil Karnataka’s cultural heritage. Lakkundi Development Authority supervises organization of Lakkundi festival. While schedules and performances vary each year, the most common highlights of the Lakkundi Festival are listed below.

2020 Edition of Lakkundi Utsava is planned for March 20 and 21, 2020. Lakkundi Utsava may be suspended for certain years in case of drought in the region.

Nearby: Gadaga (12 kms), Doddabasappa temple (15 kms), Itagi Mahadeva temple (36 kms), TB Dam (73 kms), Anegundi and Hampi (97 kms), Dambal (15 kms) and Saundatti Yellamma temple (92 kms) are often visited along with Lakkundi.

How to reach: Lakkundi is 375 kms from Bengaluru and 70 kms from Hubballi (nearest airport). Gadaga junction (13 kms away) is the nearest railway station. Taxi can be hired from Hubballi or Gadaga to reach Lakkundi. KSRTC may organize special buses during Lakkundi festival to visit Lakkundi and nearby tourist attractions.

Stay: Few budget hotels are available in Lakkundi. Gadaga city (13 kms) has more hotels.
