Tourism Trade Facilitation Act
Giving a boost to the tourism industry in Karnataka, the Karnataka Tourism Trade and Promotion Facilitation Act is being prepared by the Department of Tourism. The Act will prove beneficial for the tourism industry, the government and travellers. The Act is aimed at being more participatory in nature with the objective of safe and comfortable travel, access to quantified and qualified information for the government and other agencies involved in the research and development, and also to ensure clarity in the roles expected to be played by service providers.
The draft of the Act, which is under preparation, has passed through several rounds of discussions with tourism trade bodies and government departments. Once finalised, the draft would be sent to the State Cabinet for sanction, following which it will be an enacted law as passed by the State Legislature.
