India International Travel Mart

 

The Department of Tourism, Government Of Kasrnataka participated in the India International Travel Mart held in Mumbai from the to of October 2005.

The event was held at the World Trade Center at Mumbai.

The Department took up 40 sq.mts of space for the event. As a part of the initiative of the department, invitations were send out to the private trade participants to be a part f the IITM.

The event was inaugurated by the Principal Secretary, Tourism, Government Of Karnataka smt.L. Shanthakumari.

 
 

1) Trade invites: Invitations were send out to the private trade participants to participate in the IITM. In all 6 private entrepreneurs participated in the exhibition in the Karnataka Pavilion. Each of these private participants paid a sum of Rs.5000/- towards their participation. They were provided with a chair and table at the Karnataka Pavilion.

2) Co-ordination with Prathirupi: The agency as always coordinated with M/s Prathirupi. Prathurupi put up the pavilion at the exhibition venue at WTC Mumbai. Panels depicting the various destinations in the state were showcased at the exhibition. Marketing collaterals that were to be distributed was send to the venue by the agency.

3) Press Conference: The agency coordinated a press conference for the department of tourism and the department of Information at the venue. A press conference hall was arranged for along with equipment for the conference which included a projector, a screen and a sound system. In all 3 publications and 2 T.V.channels carried the news item on the same day. The Principal Secretary, IT & Y made presentation to the audience on the tourism attractions of the state and also the potential that lay ahead by exploring a destination like Karnataka. The Commissioner of Information Mr. Rabindranath Tagore made a presentation on the upcoming Mahamastakabhisheka to be held in 2006. Both the presentations were prepared by the agency. Films on the various destinations of the state were also showcased at the press conference.
