The International Health and Tourism Exhibition 2004
A synopsis
The event that was launched first in September 2003, is expected to grow by about 40% in number of exhibitors, this year. Additional features and events such as symposiums, medical seminars & workshops, prior to and after the exhibition, will also take place parallel in a trial from the organizers to highlight the educational site aimed by the different exhibitors. |

Karnataka Tourism at the International Health And Tourism Exhibition
After the overwhelming response to Karnataka as a medical tourism destination last year the Department Of Tourism decided to participate in the exhibition this year also.
The department took up 40sq.mts at the exhibition. In total there were 5 private participants at the Karnataka pavilion. With the cabinet expansion in process none of the key decision makers and influencer's could participate in the event.
The entire onus of the exhibition fell on the agency representative Mr.Anand Menon. Karnataka attracted a lot of attention from medical fraternity and patients at the exhibition. |

Participating at the IHT.
The Objective
In the recent years Karnataka has been in the limelight as far as medical tourism is concerned. The world class quality of medical care clubbed along with the infrastructure, the weather and most important the cost factor for medical treatment make Karnataka a favored destination.
The key objectives for participating at the IHT:
1) Bring to the forefront the variety of available medical treatments available in Karnataka to the region
2) Offer products that would draw the attention of the target group into the market.
3) Build relationships with the medical fraternity in the region. |

Preparations for the International Health and Tourism Exhibition
Inviting private participation for the event:
Invites were send to key hospitals and health care centers in the state to participate in the event. In total 5 hospitals participated in the event.
Stall set-up and design:
The department took up a total of 40 sq.mts of space at the exhibition.
The stall was set up accordingly using pre-fabricated exhibition walls. In total 3 such exhibition walls were used. 2 of these were specific to the medical opportunities in the state and one of them was on the destination in general.
Marketing collaterals:
An exhibitor profile with information on the participants was developed for the event. Other than this a set of the marketing collaterals which included the Theme Brochure, Medical Brochure, Bangalore & Mysore leaflets, and maps of Bangalore & Karnataka was distributed at the exhibition. |
