Nandi Hills

This Popular weekend getaway is just 60 kms from Bangalore . The bracing air and serene environs of Nandi Hills, perched at a height of 1455 m above sea level, provided Tipu Sultan and the British with an idyllic summer retreat.

Tipu's Drop :

A 600 m high cliff face where according to legend, condemned prisoners were pushed to their death.

Yoga Nandishvara Temple :

This beautiful Chola temple has an inscription of Sambhaji, Shivaji's son. The Dwarapalakas, the splendid metallic figures are not-to-be-missed.

Amrita Samovar :

The sparkling water of the Lake of Nectar is a major tourist attraction at the Nandi Hills.

Bhoga Nandishwara Temple :

At the base of the Nandi Hills in the Nandi Village is the Bhoga Nandishwara Temple that follows the Dravidian style of architecture. Atop the Nandi Hills are the temples in honor of Sri Ugra Narasimha and Sri Yoga Narasimha.

At Nandi Hills, you can take a quiet stroll or if you prefer something a little more energetic, you can experience the thrills of parasailing and paragliding. There are rides for beginners too!
